The Bad Weather List
Winter officially begins Saturday, December 21 and we’ve had two snow days already. I thought I would put together a list of helpful links and phone number to get you through the next two months.
For school and county, the Howard County Government site keeps public school closings on the front page. For parents there is also reminders of upcoming holiday closings:

Personally, I am hoping clear skies and least though the holiday. But barring that I’m at least prepared. Hot chocolate, fresh baked cookies, a toasty blanket and my loved ones around. Should you find yourself snowed in be sure to keep this easy recipe For Mexican Hot Chocolate (from All Recipes) handy.
Mexican Hot Chocolate
3 tablespoons instant hot chocolate mix
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch chili powder
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup boiling water
Mix the hot chocolate mix, chocolate syrup, cinnamon, and chili powder. Pour in the milk. Add the boiling water and stir. Serves 2
