So much is happening at the Howard County Housing Fair to be held on April 12th at Long Reach High School.
Put on by the Howard County Housing (HCH), the annual fair will have a variety of events to help home buyers. Some of the events this year include:
· Education Sessions with Lenders, housing specialist and county personnel
o First time Home buyer sessions
o Affordable housing in HoCo
o Down Payment Assistance and Grants
o Understanding credit
· Learn about available mortgage programs
· Guided bus tours of communities
· Free credit counseling
· Fun Kids Zone
AND
· The Home and Apartment LOTTERY available for 3 luck winners. This will enable folks to buy or rent a home for much less that the market value. You MUST be present to win and submit an application ahead of time.
The HCH is an affordable housing provider and valuable tool to assist a buyer or renter looking for affordable housing in Howard County. With a County that has one of the highest per capita incomes in the county and consistency has one of the best school districts in Maryland and in the US, a buyer or rental finding a home for less than the market value is an impossible task. However for three lucky lottery winners on April 12th, they could win the chance to be able to purchase one of the following homes.
For Sale Homes in the Lottery:
· For $221,026 a 3 bedroom, 3 bath newly constructed 1600 square foot 3 level townhome in Shipley’s Grant. The home has a garage and a gas furnace.
· For $145.000 a ‘to be constructed’ single family detached home in Elkridge with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths at 1168 square feet. This buyer will have the opportunity to select some of the final touches.
For Rental apartment in the Lottery:
· For $1252 a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in Laurel at a 24% reduction of the market rate monthly rent
