Howard County Maryland’s Big Lottery

While it’s not free, a NEW house for around $200k in Howard County Maryland is a deal.

Annually, Howard County has a lottery at the Housing Fair and this year, there are TWO homes available.  In the past years, there was only one.

The lottery offers folks the opportunity to purchase a home at a reduced price and applications will be accepted until 5pm on April 11.

The Howard County Housing Fair is the Sixth Fair in Howard County and is schedule to take place April 14th from 10am to 2pm at Long Reach High School in Columbia.  The drawings will take place at 1:30pm and winners MUST be in attendance, have pre-applied and must meet all income requirements.

One home is a newly constructed three bedroom, three bath town-home in the Howard Square Development in Elkridge.  The home was built by Ryan Homes and included energy-saving features, stainless appliances, and a back deck.  The lottery sale price is $209,813.  Other homes in this neighborhood are priced at over $260,000 at a minimum.   You can view this home at 7225 Abby Road on April 5th from 3pm to 5pm.

The second home is a 987 square foot town-home in North Laurel that includes green features and a remodeled kitchen.  The lottery sale price is $140,000.  You can view the home at 9840 Whiskey Run on April 3rd from 5pm to 7pm. 

Income requirements vary for the two homes/lotteries.
