Historic Ellicott City: What Happens When We Aren’t Looking?

It is Historic Ellicott City’s prime time for Ghost Tours. Are you ready? Whether you decide to tag along for the fun of the Halloween Spirit, or you find interest in the past that haunts the town, there is much to see. During the tour, the guide, in all black attire and possibly even a top hat, stops at many of the attractions along Main Street and elsewhere throughout the town, telling stories of its past residents and the paranormal activities that spook its guests.
Covering 238 years of history, the tour covers the House of Lilburn. Built in 1857 by Henry Richard Hazelhurst, the house is now privately owned and has become a main attraction among the dead. Spirits of Mr. Hazelhurst and his family trapped within its walls, haunting those who dare enter.
The tours welcome guests of all ages. Tickets for the tours can be purchased for $11 – $13.00 at the Welcome Center located at 8627 Main Street. Can’t make it for Halloween? Not a problem!
