Elkridge’s location
Elkridge is located on the eastern most section of Howard County directly below Baltimore City along the Rt 95 corridor. Rt 1 runs north to south in the middle of Elkridge and boarders the eastern most section of Howard County.
History
Founded early in the 18th century, Elkridge is located at the confluence of three counties. In addition to Howard, the two others are Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties. It is bordered on the north by Catonsville, on the east by Linthicum and the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), on the south by Dorsey and the MARC (train to DC and Baltimore), and on the west by various small communities including Ellicott City and Columbia. There is a nice park to the north with picnic areas and trails.

There are a variety of small stores and restaurants in the Elkridge center and it provides easy access to major roads and the airport along with metro to Baltimore and Washington DC. There is also a number of new or newer homes in the area, some mixed in with older homes. A new school in the area adds to the great Howard County School System (rated top in the state and country).
